Tees Update
Now that the greens have returned to normal maintenance and we have a reliable irrigation system in place, our attention has shifted to the recovery of the tees, which were heavily affected by the recent cold and dry weather.

The first step was to repair the 15 broken irrigation heads—this work was completed earlier this week, allowing us to water the tees as effectively as possible under the current system.

Next, we will overseed the tees using a disc drill seeder, which places the seed below the surface for better germination. This will be followed by top dressing and fertiliser applications to help the seed establish more quickly. We will also raise the height of cut for the next few weeks to give the new seedlings the best possible start.

Looking ahead, we’re also planning some changes to tee management during the winter months. As discussed earlier in the year, we’ll be aiming to come off the main tees earlier in the season. This will allow for better recovery of the grass surfaces and overall long-term improvement. We’ll introduce alternate teeing areas and use mats to minimise disruption to the golfer while protecting the playing surfaces.
