So, Club Championship week…..good luck to all the competitors playing in Junior, Sir Alex Fletcher and main club championship. Knock out matches in the evenings this week leading up to Finals day on Sunday…..would be great to have as many members as possible out watching; especially next Sunday afternoon.
The 36 hole qualifying for the RG Bunch trophy, which is essentially our strokeplay championship, was won on Sunday by Robbie Main with a brilliant 137 total (66,71).
NOTE: We have a rules evening set up for Friday of this week. Council member Stephen Glancy will make a short presentation on the history of the rules and introduce Stuart Graham (Sec. Luffness New GC/R&A Rules Referee) to make a presentation and run a Q&A scenario type event. 6.30 pm in the Edinburgh Room. Dress code is casual & refreshments on arrival.
Please let Mark (housemanager@royalburgess.co.uk) know if you wish to attend.
The accidental damage to the overflow car park is being dealt with; no charge to the society for repairs.
You will notice that 2 electric car charging points are also being installed. Details to follow.
We have our second match of the year against Bruntsfield in the evening of Thursday 3rd July. This is a home game played off handicap and includes sandwiches and coffee before golf, with dinner post match. Can I remind everyone that if you are interested in playing to please let the office know.
With an extremely busy golfing calendar, the introduction of some new and developing society fixtures, we have recently rationalised a number of the society matches in terms of moving to biennial from 2026. Once these have been confirmed we will inform members of changes.
