Several Past Captains were in attendance at Past Captain Colin Robertson’s funeral on the same day, so many thanks to those who stepped in in their absence.
The teams headed out in dry weather and the rain appeared to be holding off. However as Glasgow got control of the match, a heavy downpour led to most games finishing at the 16th. With the smell of steak pie wafting from the clubhouse, most games headed in. In the end, Perth Captain Bill Duncan was forced to announce a 4 1/2 to 1 1/2 defeat and presented the prize putter to David Michie, captaining the Glasgow team for the day.
Compliments were paid to both the course and the hospitality in the clubhouse. A number of the Perth team had not been in the clubhouse before and during a tour were impressed with its ability to simultaneously host a large funeral function upstairs, whilst members could relax in one lounge and our players dine in another!
A successful day all round for everyone involved, particularly Glasgow Golf Club.
