CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND – 5/6th July 2025
Results
The Club Championship and Chance Cup were held over the weekend. While it was generally dry, it was rather blustery, especially on Sunday. The Course was set up and presented well by Gavin and his team. This year 90 members entered the Club Championship and 45 the Chance Cup. We are not sure if this is a record but is certainly higher than recent years.
The Club Championship was a closely fought contest with many players staying on during Sunday afternoon to see how the scoring developed as Nick Foxon displayed the scores on the screen in the lounge. Laurent Beech started the second round with a 4 shot lead and this narrowed during the closing stages but Laurent prevailed winning by 3 shots over 2024 Club Champion, Luke Murray in second place and Steve Brereton in third. Congratulations to Luke and Steve. Congratulations also to Henry Lightfoot on winning the Nett with a combined score of 136.
In the Chance Cup on Saturday, Aaron Harris was the winner with a score of 64 over Chris Deacon in second place and Stuart Banks in third place.

Eaton Junior Captain, Laurent Beech, received the Club Championship trophy for 2025 from Club Captain Andrew Ramsey.
Andrew recounted that Laurent's golfing journey began at Christleton Village fete 8 years ago where Eaton Golf club professional Bill Tye provided a taster experience.
Laurent thanked Eaton staff for all their work in providing a superb golf course and everyone for their support for the club championship. Laurent will head to the USA on 20th August this year to take up a golf scholarship at the University of Texas Permian Basin. Congratulations and good luck to Laurent.
