Men’s Captain, James Greenall, was on duty just at 5.00am on Sunday to welcome 132 Members to play in the men’s singles stableford competition. The early players experienced nice golfing conditions before heavy showers set in later in the morning. Everyone enjoyed a barbeque at the halfway house served by the Ladies Section.

The Prize winners were:

Division I - Winner - Guy Westcott (39 pts c/b); Runner Up - Ross Isbister (39 pts);

Division II - Winner - Mark Canham (40 pts); Runner Up - Harry Garside (38 pts);

Division III - Winner - Robert Harris (45 pts); Runner Up - Simon Reeves (43 pts)

Men’s Captain’s Prizes for Juniors was also played on Sunday and the Ladies Prize earlier in the week. The winners were:

Captain’s Prize for Ladies: Winner – Hilary Radford 44 pts, 2nd Prize – Jackie Casburn 43 pts.

Juniors - Winner - Leo Reeves - 44 pts.

These prizes were presented to the winners by Men’s Captain, James and this was followed by the presentation to the trophy winners for the year by the President, Andy Wylie. These included (major competitions): Baines Bronzes – Mark Westley & Matt Speight, Bullough Cup – Guy Westcott, Mixed Foursomes – David Guy & Mandy Manchett, Jubilee Bowl – Owen Peck.

130 members and their families attended the prizegiving and this was followed by afternoon tea served by the Board in the marquee.
