WCGC bagged their best win of the season so far with a resounding win at home to Truro GC. Following a narrow loss in the away fixture in July, the Seniors turned the tables on home turf.

Despite wet and blustery conditions, all but one of the pairings returned points, resulting in a convincing 7-1 victory.

With Seniors Captain Dennis Fryer rested for the fixture, Vice Captain Tom Gair did an admirable job rallying the troops. Partnered with in form Jeff Deakin, an early point was inevitable with a 4&3 win. This was followed by further points from Mark Adams/Phil Thomas (4&3), David Felce/Andy Hurrell (4&2) and Geoff Baylis/David Winks (4&3). Truro pulled a point back in the 5th pairing, but West Cornwall sealed the deal with 3 further points from Antony Richards/Tony Dickinson (4&3), Fred Grist/ Ryszard Zolkiewicz (4&2) and Scott Harrington/John Frewer (2&1).

Andy Hurrell capped a successful day with a bottle of fine wine for nearest the pin.

With just 5 more fixtures remaining, next up is another home fixture as the team host Cape Cornwall GC on Thursday 11 September.
