Junior Club Championship
This week we held the Junior Club Championship - the Hogg Cup - named after former member, Sir Christopher Hogg, and donated by his dear friend, Charles Irving.
It was our biggest turnout yet for a junior event, with 20 golfers, hungry for silverware and glory.

The day began with a session on etiquette and course management that all of us could probably have used, from Nick Lloyd and Junior Organiser, Paddy Griffith, and Captain Ron Lay.
Playing conditions were very much less than great - the Juniors came in soaked and heroic with some fantastic scoring.

Lowest Gross was Charlie Linch with a stunning 71.
Closest to pin on 8 was Axel Jones.
Longest drive on 18 was 'Long George Lacy’
In the main event, Jack Donovan was third on 42.
Second on countback was George Parker.

But way out in front was rising star, Wilfred Pitchford, with a truly magnificent 47 points.
Friday Roll-up
This week saw 26 players which, in view of the overnight & morning rain, was quite an achievement.

The winner, continuing his current run of good form, was Roy Wyllie with 39 points followed by Charlie Browning, Stuart McClarty and myself( first appearance in the prize money at last) with 38 points. Handicap adjustments as needed.
The next Roll Up will be 19th September.
