Ladies Elliott Methuselah Results

14 Ladies braved the weather conditions on Tuesday to play in the Elliott Methuselah competition. The trophy for this event can only be won by ladies over a certain age. Congratulations to Jane Worner for winning the trophy. Chloe Briance had a great score of 35 points in very tough conditions. The full results are attached with today's latest news email.

Couples Cup (formerly Married Couples Cup

The Couples Cup (formerly Married Couples Cup) is taking place on Sunday 21st September. This event is now open to all genuine couples whether they are married or not. Full information about this event is on the poster attached with today's latest news email. The booking for this competition is now live on Club V1, please add your names to a tee time if you would like to play. Please email us with your menu choices after you have entered.

Snooker - Note from Colin Chart

Are you Snooker loopy?

If you would like a friendly game of snooker, we are looking for club members (golfing or social) who would be interested in entering a snooker competition, to be run through the winter months. The format is likely to be round Robin best of 3 frames and in leagues depending on how many people are interested.

I have recently volunteered to maintain the snooker table and the club has recently purchased a side brush and nap block to help me maintain the table. I have also repaired the cue holder and re-tipped a few club cues that were in desperate need of new tips. There is also another larger cue holder, some cues and various rests kindly donated to the club. Thank you to new members Colin and Carol Poore for their kind donation.

Could I ask members who use their own cues to play on the table to check their tips to ensure the ferrule is not showing or needs re-tipping. Please feel free to contact me for advice on re-tipping.

So, if this is something that would interest you when the shorter days are with us and most likely inclement weather, please add your name and contact details to the notice in the snooker room.
