Course Development
Course development is always ongoing, and one of the most satisfying parts of the job is seeing improvement projects come to life on the ground.
Recently the greenkeeping team have been busy constructing a number of new bunkers around the course, all installed with BunkerMat liner to help improve performance and longevity. The liner helps prevent contamination, improves drainage, and keeps the sand playing more consistently throughout the season.
Bunker construction is one of those jobs where a huge amount of the work happens before the sand even goes in — design, shaping, preparing the base, drainage and installing the liner system properly to make sure the bunker performs as it should for years to come.
Credit to the team for the effort that goes into these projects and the attention to detail required to get them right. It’s another step forward as we continue to refine and improve the course for our members and visitors.
