The Course Management Committee met in early April and reviewed how the course played through the winter and what learnings and improvements could be made for next winter. The committee have recommended the following actions for winter 2026/27.

a) Increase the number of tee mats on the orange course to 18 (from 14) to ensure there is a mat on each hole
b) Explore the possibility of increasing the size of mats on some holes
c) Increase the frequency of brushing of the mats
d) Introduce compulsory fairway mats from next winter.
e) Relocate tee mats adjacent to paths where appropriate
f) Improve areas around tee mats to minimize wear

The decision to introduce compulsory fairway mats for next winter was made having evidenced the increased level of divot damage coming into this season and also following member feedback. The details on the use of mats including when they will be in operation and any rules pertaining to the playing of golf will be circulated to members later in the year. The impact of mats during the 2026/27 winter period will be reviewed next year and any longer-term decisions taken then.
