South Staffs Team of David Franklin (Team Captain), Chris Wright, Guy Cheema and Richard Chapman who played at Stafford Castle in the opening event of the Association of Staffordshire Golf Captains being the Stan Hill Trophy.
This is a team event with 2 out of 4 scores to count save on the par 3's when it's 3 out of 4 to count. 9 holes roughly were played in relatively benign conditions and 9 holes roughly were played in pretty horrendous rainy conditions.
Three teams were tied at the top of the leaderboard on 87 points.
Brocton Hall came 3rd on a not so good back 9 then South Staffs in 2nd and ultimately Drayton Manor in 1st.
Congratulations to the members of the South Staffs team on a tremendous performance and hard luck on being squeezed out by the smallest of margins on the back 9 score.
