Women's English Open
Coming Very Soon to Hopwood
With just over three weeks to the LET Access Tournament at Hopwood, we were delighted to meet with the England Golf team yesterday to run through the logistics for the week. Perhaps most importantly, we had confirmation of the record prize fund and the event title, which is the Women's English Open. In years to come, the name is expected to grow in reputation and profile so we are honoured to host this year's championship. A full, strong field is guaranteed with entries already exceeding the maximum number of 132 players, each competing for World Ranking Points, Order of Merit points and a full LET Card (for the top 7 at the end of the season). We also learnt that players from more than 20 countries will be at the Club from 6th to 11th July. Members will have the opportunity to see the action up close, with access to the 19th throughout the week and the chance to watch the practice day (Monday), Pro Am (Tuesday) and 54 hole tournament (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). Some well known names will be at the Pro AM, along with England Golf Partners and sponsors, full details to be announced soon. In keeping with other events of this stature, members will not be able to play or use the practice facilities during the week. For the ultimate experience, you can still volunteer at the event with the chance to marshal, transport players, help at the range/short game area and much more. Thanks also to members who are accommodating players during the Championship, the organisers are very grateful for our support for this high profile event. Friends and family are also welcome at the Club as spectators. To help spread the word and let people plan for the week we have created a Guide which you can access here. Please feel free to share this with anyone you feel relevant. In the build-up to and during the week, our dedicated webpage will report further details of the event, the players, scores and more so please visit using the link . Thank you for your support, we hope as many Members as possible will be at the Club for the Women's English Open.
