June 9 - Gents B Team The Bainbridge Shield team travelled to Harrogate GC on a cold, blustery day with intermittent heavy downpours. With a 2 tee start the teams headed out to battle the Harrogate golfers and also the elements. Our thanks go out to Harrogate Golf Club for an outstanding course, great hospitality and the friendly welcome our team received. We had recently been pushed off the top of the table but only due to our recent planned match to Skipton having to be rescheduled. I am pleased to announce that the team played some outstanding golf and came away worthy 9-3 winners putting us back on the top of the table with 5 fixtures remaining. Our next fixture is in 2 weeks at home to Rudding Park which looks like it could be a key fixture in our calendar. The team are doing everything in their power to ‘Bring it Home’ for the first time since 2002. June 9 - Rabbits Dalesgateforth Trophy Another great week for Bedale Rabbits …Tues 9/6/26 Well done to the Rabbits team @ Horsforth in the first leg of our defence of the Dalesgateforth Trophy. Led by VC Ian Housby, a tight result seeing Bedale come out on top with 245, Harrogate 243 & Horsforth 221. Great score from Rob New 39, backed up by Nick Baker 33, Andy Bayston 32, Keith Bateman 31 and John Bailey 30. So another excellent start to our trophy defence. June 12 - Ladies White Rose Team A lovely day at Baildon, fab ladies, great scones but unfortunately the extreme windy weather and the interesting obstacle of dog walking locals walking across the course got the better of the White Rose Bedale Ladies. The result 3.5 to 1.5 win for Baildon. Well done to Julie on her first White Rose experience. Tough luck to Helen Wycks, Julie Fisher, Jo Worrall, Claire Retchless (c) and Debbie Eames. June 12 - Ladies A Team A fantastic win against Ilkley at home 4-1. Windy but sunny conditions and an extremely friendly and lovely group of ladies from Ilkley. Well played team! June 12 - Rabbits Hambleton Cup Another cracking tussle for Bedale Rabbits in the 1st leg of the Hambleton Cup triangular @ Easingwold. Mixed weather again to contend with … but no complaints as the result was Thirsk & Northallerton 3rd on 244pts Bedale 2nd on 249 and Easingwold 1st on 252… so just 3 pts to make up. Top scorers for Bedale - Mark Brown 36, Simon Pilling 36, Capt Sean McEneany with 33 and a 32 from Frank Foy. Well done all again.
