I’ve just returned from competing in the ISPS Handa Irish Open for Golfers with a Disability, held at Roganstown Golf & Country Club. This was the fifth year the tournament has been hosted at Roganstown and my second time taking part. The conditions were incredibly challenging for everyone, with strong gusting winds and persistent rain throughout the event. In fact, only one player managed to play to their handicap across the two rounds. I finished 13th overall in the Nett competition out of a field of 45 players and 5th in my sport class. It wasn’t my best golf, but there were still plenty of positives to take away, and I remain 73rd in the WR4GD Nett World Rankings. My next event will be the PING Wales G4D Open at Raglan from 25–27 August. Spectators are, of course, very welcome, and I’d love to see some familiar faces there.
