A big thank you to everyone who took part in Wednesday’s Stableford competition – followed by what many would say was the true highlight of the evening: England in the clubhouse. We had over 40 in attendance, which is either down to the excellent golf… or the £3 buffet (let’s be honest, probably the buffet). Huge thanks to the caterers – I’m not sure how they did it for £3, but I’d like them in charge of my weekly shopping. Well done to the winners of the £100 “Guess the Goal Time” and the highly prestigious “Bucket of Beer – Guess the Last Goal”. Some very impressive predictions… or very lucky guesses – we won’t ask too many questions. Good news – we’re doing it all again next Tuesday for England’s next game (9pm). Darren has organised the 3 Lions Stablefored - this is a 9-hole Stableford from 4:30–6:30pm, which gives you just enough time to play, have a quick pint (or two), and get settled in for kick-off. We’ll have another £100 goal sweep and, of course, another Bucket of Beer on the line – so plenty to play for, even if your golf isn’t up to much.
