The Scratch league season is underway with both teams having played two matches each. This season sees 12 teams entered with Brough again being the only club to enter two teams. The format is slightly different to 2025 with three leagues of four teams, with the league winners plus best second placed team making up the semi final places, to be played on a neutral venue in August. The Final will, as always, be played at Ganton in September. League A- Burstwick, Drax, Filey, Hessle League B- Brough B, Cave Castle, Hull, Scarborough North Cliff League C- Brough A, Beverley, Brid Belvedere, KP Club Results to date: Week One Brid Belvedere v Brough A- Wed June 3rd Ollie Beckett v Jonny Barker - Loss 5&4 Dan Artley v Ben Tuplin- Win 4&3 Dan Hudson v Ioan Pearce loss 1 Down Result: Brid 2-1 Brough A Another good away win for Tuplin Jnr and a very unlucky loss for Ioan when his opponent eagled the 18th to win the match & the points for Brid.. SNC v Brough A -Fri June 5th Tom Benson v Mark Beaney Loss 7&6 Tom Duck v Sam Carroll Loss 2&1 Chris Penock v Matt George Loss 4&3 Result: SNC 3-0 Brough B Beano came up against an opponent in hot form and seven birdies in the first 10 holes would have beaten anybody. Tom Benson went onto to win the East Riding Individual Title at Burstwick on the following Sunday!! Sam was 4up at one stage but Tom Duck is an experienced ERUGC team player and on his own course tough to beat. Matt on debut lost but not disgraced on a course he hadnt played before. So two defeats to start but still early days. Week 2 Brough A v Beverley Wed June 10th Ben Tuplin v Jason Pitter Win 3&1 Ioan Pearce v William Bentley Loss 3&2 Darren Tuplin v Freddie Rogers Win 4&2 Result: Brough A 2-1 Beverley On his debut as No1 Ben once again came out on top from ex Brough member Jason whilst Senior Tuplin made it a family affair with another win as we gained our first win of the season. Brough B v Cave Castle Mason Sleight v Tom Adcock Win 4&2 Mark Beaney v Huxley Sawyer - Match Halved Mike Gayton v Dave Ripton Win 6&4 Result Brough B 2.5 - 0.5 Beverley This was an excellent home win with Mason also winning again whilst making his debut at No 1. Beano made a great birdie at 18 to snatch a halve and Mike followed up his excellent 2025 form with a big win in the third match. So two matches each and a win & a loss for both teams. Week 3 matches are next week with Brough A away at KP and Brough B travel to Hull. Our next home games for both teams are to be held on Wed July 1st - Tee times 5.10-6pm. Brough A will entertain Brid Belvedere and Brough B will be pitted against SNC, both teams looking to avenge opening day defeats.
