Tuesday 14th July, 15 very courageous ladies took part in the 36-Hole Club Championship, luckily the weather wasn't as scorching as I had feared it might be and with a fabulous This being a scratch competition keeping concentration for 2 rounds is in itself a huge challenge, with a gross score of 82 + 86 = 168 our Club Champion is I am delighted to report our Lady Vice Captain Rachel with Shirley Prescott our runner up on 179 gross for the 2 rounds, both lades losing a shot or 2 The Bronze lady for the best gross in the 20.4 + hcp was won by Trish on 189 gross Our Challenge Bowl which is a nett competition as may be expected after a fabulous gross score was LVC Rachel on 138 nett, and getting her hands on some silverware for the 1st time with 179 nett was Debbie Scott With 2 such fabulous rounds Rachel won both best gross am and pm P.M. was a 18-hole Stableford for ladies and this competition was won by Nettie on 39pts, very closely followed by Margaret on 38pts We had several ladies brave 36 holes Club Champs for the first time and hopefully they will give it a go again, well done Shirley Presott, Sue Pearson, Vicki Scott, Debbie Scott, Lisa Tomlinson, Shellie Harvey and Georgia Fleming.
