The Balmore Open Texas Scramble was held today in variable weather with the course once again attracting praise from our many visitors and guests. The popularity of the event was again demonstrated by 53 teams taking part, with first tee off at 7am and the last one at 4pm.
With a terrific nett score of 45.4 the winners were Kilsyth members James Clelland, Robin Kennedy, Frank Divers and David Kennedy. They win vouchers of £100 each.
Narrowly beaten into second place with a score of 46.3 were Barshaw members Michael Foran, Gerry Daly, Jim Black and Ron Marshall. They win vouchers of £80 each.
Cameron McCready from Balmore and his three guests, Cameron Jeffrey, Ryan Patterson and Andrew Whinney, came third with a score of 47.1. They win vouchers of £70 each.
Remaining prizewinners as follows:
4th - Barshaw members Chris McNeil, Ray Smith, Tom Watson and Anthony Quinn, also with a score of 47.1 but with a higher back 9 - vouchers of £60 each.
5th - Balmore members Richard Lambie, Drew Halleran, John Burke and Gary O'Neil with a score of 47.2 - vouchers of £50 each.
6th - Balmore members Paul Smith and Blair Smith along with Clober members Alan Ponton and David McIntosh with a score of 49.2 - vouchers of £40 each.
