Last Saturday ,176 members and guests enjoyed our annual and 40th Pros day to support Trevor Underwood and his team. A great day was had by all with Ross Troake undertaking a marathon shift starting all teams off on the 1st tee from 07.30 to 15.00. At the half way house Sally Underwood provided refreshment and a "no lose challenge “ on the 10th which was taken up by all, and this clearly had the desired effect on Andrew Burrows who had his first hole in one. Special mention should also go to Robin Murray who’s tee shot on the 4th could not have been any nearer to the hole and deservedly won Nearest the Pin. There were a good number of eagles scored on the day, and amazingly three of these were on the 18th where Trevor had offered a Nearest to Pin in 2 prize (or as it transpired, prizes!) Three teams finished on 90 points ,with the winning team scoring 7 points on the 18th to clinch the win on count back - Congratulations to Barry and Darren Clayton, Ian Humphreys and Aiden Lisser. Commiserations to Martin & Joy Wisdom, Duncan and Jo Goldsworthy who finished 2nd on countback narrowly beating Paul Murray. Robin Murray, Jerry Roberts and Miles McMurdo who were 3rd. May we also remind members to put Saturday 17th October in their diaries, when we will host a dinner to thank Trevor for his 40 years of service to the club
