Step Back in Time – Hickory Golf Day at Southport Old Links Join us on Saturday 15 August for a unique and enjoyable Hickory Golf Day, as we celebrate the traditions of the game with classic clubs, vintage style and plenty of fun. The event is open to all, so enter your name and team now. The event start times will feature two 9 Hole shotgun starts, to give people more flexible opportunity to be involved: 12.00pm Shotgun Start 3.00pm Shotgun Start Players are asked to arrive 45–60 minutes before their tee time, with a short introduction and talk from our organising partners taking place 30 minutes before each start. Attendance at this briefing is required. Event Details • Teams of up to four players • £25 per person (£100 per fourball) Entry Sheets are up in the Entrance Foyer • Food included after your round • Open to members, friends and family Dress for the Era! Whilst normal golf attire is perfectly acceptable, we would love to see players embracing the spirit of the hickory age. Plus-fours, tweed jackets, flat caps, waistcoats and argyle socks are all warmly encouraged. For those looking for inspiration, golfers of the early 20th century often sported: • Plus-fours or tailored trousers • Collared shirts and ties • Flat caps or newsboy hats • Traditional tweed and knitwear There will also be prizes for Best Dressed Gentleman and Best Dressed Lady, so feel free to go all out!
