Greenjackets Win for Royal
Royal Jersey Juniors win Hampshire knonckout
On Sunday 27th July the Junior Team from Royal Jersey of Aiden Wilson, Marley Austin Vautier and Oliver Bourke won the Hampshire Green Jacket final at Hockley Golf Club.
In the morning the team played against Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club from the Isle of Wight. Marley playing off 16 handicap scored an outstanding 43 points and Aiden off 2 handicap, scored 37 points. Oliver played off 8 handicap and scored 32 points. The best two scores counted so the Royal Jersey team score of 80 points beating Shanklin and Sandown’s 75 points.
In the afternoon Royal Jersey played against the winners of the other semi final, Bramshott Hill Golf Club.
Aiden lead the team off again and scored another very solid 35 points. He played with Charlie Ship from Bramshott. He played off 7 and scored 40 points finishing with an eagle after chipping in on the 18th hole. Marley had another excellent round and scored 41 points. He played with Harry Pollard who scored 36 points. This left the teams level on 76 points.
This meant that the best score of the third game would decide the result. Oliver played very steadily throughout his round scoring 34 points which beat Jackson Porter who scored 30 points.
Royal Jersey juniors will now go onto represent Hampshire in the English Junior Club finals which will be played at Woodhall Spa on 11th and 12th August.
