Greens maintenance
Next weeks work explained
Just a quick post to say what we are doing next week for our summer greens maintenance. Yesterday we did our first process of maintenance by giving the greens a good deep verticut to thin the sward out and remove dead matter from top few mm. Next week we will be hollowtining down to a depth of around 70mm using a 8mm diameter tine. After this we will broadcast forefront greens bent seed over the greens before dressing them using between 30-40 tonne of mm35 top dressing sand. We are aiming to do the top 9 and putting greens on Monday so that the bottom 9 greens can be used that day followed by the other greens Tuesday. Top dressing will take place Monday Tuesday and Wednesday and if a top up is needed Thursday as well. All greens will be back in play on Friday. Whilst greens are under maintenance flogs will be in play.
