Manager's Update
Summer's Fading
As we come towards the end of July and head into the final summer month, it feels an appropriate time to give an update on what's been happening at the club. SENIORS' LEAGUE SEASON COMES TO AN END - The Seniors team played host to the champions as the season concluded with a home match against Harburn. The score ended in a 3.5-1.5 victory for the visitors, which unfortunately ended our impressive, undefeated home record. The top and bottom of the league were only separated by 3.5 points, proving a competitive (and enjoyable!) season. Well done to all of those who played their part. DIVOT FILLING VOLUNTEER TEAM - Gary and Brian wanted to say a massive thank you to the magnificent team of volunteers who helped fill divots across the course last week. It was a great help and keeps our course in the fantastic condition that we're used to. STUART'S RETIREMENT COLLECTION - Echoing a previous email, many of you will know that Stuart will soon be retiring as Club Manager. Please see the email sent from handicaps@dundasparksgolf.co.uk on Monday 27 July for information on how you can contribute. NEW PINS AND BALL RETRIEVERS - Another message from the greenkeeping team as we are upgrading our pins. From the Seniors Open onwards, you will notice that we have upgraded our flagsticks to prevent them from blowing over and to provide a sturdier base. We have also invested in discs fitted to the bottom of the pins, allowing you to retrieve your ball simply by lifting the flagstick from the hole. KAYLEIGH SINGER AND DANIEL EARDLEY FUNDRAISER - Kayleigh and Dan have decided to do something special in memory of their baby girl Skye and to raise vital funds for such a special charity close to their hearts. To do this, they will be taking on a 72-hole golf challenge in one day on Tuesday 11 August. They will start and finish their challenge at the course, with trips to Ratho and Turnhouse in the middle. Any donation, no matter the size, would mean so much to them in memory of Skye and would help ensure that no family has to face losing their baby alone, and that they receive the support they deserve. If you wish to donate, you can do so by clicking here OPEN REMINDERS - Spaces still remain for our August opens for Seniors (Thursday 6th), Ladies (Saturday 15th), Mixed (Sunday 23rd) and Gents (Saturday 29th). Please be sure to tell your friends and family to sign up, and book your own place whilst tee times are still available.
