A reoccurring theme from member survey submissions so far is the subject of external societies, that there are too many and particularly on weekends. Members also encourage better communication from the club. A communication concerning external golf societies at Druids Heath. External societies occupy 2% of all available tee times. There are 52 Saturdays this season. External societies are present on 5 of those Saturdays. Members are responsible for arranging 2 of them. On 47 Saturdays our members will not contend with any societies at all. There are 52 Sundays this season. External societies are present on 9 of those Sundays. On 43 Sundays our members will not contend with any societies at all. Overall there are 104 weekend days this season. External societies are present on 14 of those weekend days. On 90 weekend days our members will not contend with any societies at all. Every weekend society starts at 1:00pm The average weekend society consists of 6 tee times. All revenue from external societies is invested back into the club and helps keep member subscriptions lower. The club turns away a significant amount of weekend society business because it would impact our member experience. Hopefully this communication shows that members are our priority and the decisions taken regarding external societies firmly put our members first.
