Phase 2 of the irrigation upgrade project starts on Monday 14 September, coinciding with our annual week of course maintenance.
Annual Course Maintenance
The greens will undergo a comprehensive programme of six maintenance procedures:
1. Verti-draining
2. Scarifying
3. Pot seeding
4. Application of grass seed and seaweed meal
5. Links sand dressing
6. Brushing and ironing
These essential works are carried out to maintain and improve the quality and long-term condition of the playing surfaces. Additionally, the greens on the 7th, 8th and 13th holes will undergo coring. This will help reduce thatch accumulation, improve drainage and promote healthier, more consistent playing surfaces on these traditionally wetter greens.
Phase 2 Irrigation Upgrade
Work will commence on Monday 14 September with the installation of fairway irrigation on the 18th hole, which is expected to be closed for 2 days. Hole closures will then progress through the back-nine loop as the installation works move around the course.
Please check Club V1 or the new “HowDidiDo” app each day for the latest information on hole closures before planning your round, as the schedule may change depending on the progress of the works.
You should expect a significant level of activity on the course, including an increased number of contractors, vehicles and equipment. Throughout Phase 2, please be aware that the Inscapes installation teams, like our own greenkeeping team, will require priority on the course at all times while work is being undertaken.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation during this important investment in the course. Your consideration in allowing the installation crews and greenkeeping team to carry out their work safely and efficiently is greatly appreciated.
