THIS WEEKEND The September Pairs takes place this Saturday. You can form your own pair and either play with another pair or someone to mark your card. This will be off YELLOW tees, off 85% allowance, placing allowed and it’s a qualifier. Cards in the machine. Pay £12 per pair in pro-shop. WINTER LEAGUE Now the nights are drawing in it is time to start thinking of entering the 2026/27 Winter League. The pairs Matchplay event will see four teams in five leagues and they will play each other twice on the following dates: October 17 & 31, November 21 & 28, December 12 & January 9. The five league winners and the three highest placed runners-up will go into the quarter finals on January 23; the semi-finals are on February 20 with the final played on March 13. The tee times are booked from 8.30am each Saturday. Entries will be taken from Thursday in the pro-shop at £20 per pair paid with entry. The event is capped at 20 teams so the first 20 to pay will be guaranteed a place. It is winter golf so don’t enter if you do not like the rain or cold. Substitutes are allowed in the group stages only at one per person. They play off their own or the original player’s handicap, whichever is the lowest. If both players are away then the game is forfeited. In the event of course closure or decision by winter league committee to call off due to severe weather only, then one point will be awarded to each team.
