“Summer’s lease hath all too short a date.” (William Shakespeare) All too true. After a memorable summer of baked fairways and scorching temperatures, the summer knockouts have all been completed. Many congratulations to the respective winners who were: • Fourball: David Buckle and Jeremy Wood beat Richard Standring & Terry White • Foursomes: David Buckle and Neil Smith beat David Kear & Ian Cox (1 up) • Singles: Chris Chaundy beat Jeremy Wood (2&1) The accompanying photograph shows Chris and Jeremy just after their match finished on the 18th. Chris is in the process of making a very cheesy joke, so a pint or coffee to anyone who sends me the correct or near to correct answer.
