Dear Members,
Good morning everyone and welcome to November. Apart from a little early fog on some days last week, we were blessed with some fantastic playing days, where t-shirts were still the preferred dress option.
This week looks pretty much the same, some bright days, a little touch of light rain, but overall, a very pleasant week ahead. November is a very poignant month in the British calendar as we remember the thousands that have laid down their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today. I had the idea back in July to display some “Tommy” silhouettes around the course and asked a few members what the general feeling would be. Firstly, I must thank Pete Marshall for taking the time to cut them out, paint and put them into the ground, they turned out so much better than I ever expected. Secondly, to you the members for such positive feedback. I know some of you have taken some photos, some I’ve seen, and they have been brilliant. I’d like to keep all the photos in a file, so if you wouldn’t mind sending them to me, I’ll keep them in a club photo file that I’ll put on Howdidido. Finally, as mentioned last week, if your ball lands near a ‘Tommy, please take a free drop so that you are not impeded, and if you manage to hit one with your ball, I ask that you make a voluntary charitable donation to the Royal British Legion, the collection pot is in the clubhouse.
