Armistice - Sunday 8th November
Armistice Weekend approaching
With the ever popular Armistice trophy being played for this weekend and the field filling up rapidly we have managed to squeeze a 13a into the tee sheet which doesn’t actually show up but rest assured it’s there. There is one space left on 13a which will be allocated to the first reserve if there is one. The money raised goes to a local group of Veterans “Past and Present Maintenance” who give up their time to clean and repair if needed ex-services gravestones which is a locally based charity. If anyone has any Raffle prizes they can donate for Sunday’s draw it would be most appreciated. A quick reminder to all who are playing that it is a 9am Shotgun start with the “having driven” going off at 8.50am and please make your first job picking up your Scorecard from the Foyer where you will also be suitably accosted and sold raffle tickets. You may then go and practice to your hearts content. On another note you may or may not be aware that the small bar is finally having a bit of a makeover and it’s here I’d like to mention that the cost for the re-upholstering is coming out of Gorleston Golf Clubs “150 Club” which is a monthly draw with prize money being paid out to 5 winners each month. Since it’s start in July 2021 the “150 club” has paid out £18,555 in winnings. We currently have a few spare numbers available if anyone is interested in joining. Each number is £5 a month which is required to be paid by Standing order. The spare numbers are 1, 5, 6, 29, 48, 52, 55, and 99. If you’d like a number or 2 please email golf150@btinternet.com with you name and the number(s) required and you’ll be sent the bank details. Stuart Pearce
